Projects for Skokloster Castle
Digital Fabrication of
16th Century Castle
A first-of-its-kind virtual exhibition of Skokloster Castle, developed as a digital activation alongside its Google mapping. The project brought the historic site into a new context, supported by a PR and invitation concept I developed for the launch of the digital experience.
My role
Creative consultancy including marketing analysis and digital strategy development for The Royal Armoury, Skokloster Castle and Hallwyl Museum. Over a six-month engagement, I redefined channel strategies and created promotional campaigns based on key insights and identified opportunities.
Thoughts
The future museum is more adaptable, creative and confident. Systemic problems are restraining the impact of museums. The monoculture that pervades most senior management teams remains a significant issue. Decades of attempting and failing to tackle the lack of diversity means if you want change, do small things fast and sometimes - avoid interference with high-level strategy documents.
The speed of technological change is transforming ways people access, enjoy and create culture. If we don’t seek to fully grasp its potential, there is a real risk that we become obsolete for those we seek to engage.
